Project : Structural Mechanics Lab Experiment System
LabVIEW Programmer -- Structural Mechanics Lab Experiment System
Objective :   To develop experiment system for structural mechanics laboratory. The system allows lecturer to operate 7 different experiments and students are able to real-time observe the experiment data by accessing the wireless internet.
Story : This laboratory experiment system includes 2 hardware stations and 7 different experiments, such as Bridge Mode test, Column Buckling test, Truss Force test, and etc. We use FPGA to control 1-axis motion movement and real-time record the data of strain gauge and load cell. Users can login to the program by different authority. The “lecturer” can control the experiment station, and the “student” can only observe the data, do the calculation, and fill the experiment report. Multiple users are allowed to access at the same time, so that lecturer can easily explain the equation by demonstrating the experiment, and the students can access the experiment data at the same time.
We help the customer to simplify the experiment equipments by integrating 7 different experiments into 2 experiment stations. All of those experiments are controlled by the same program. With the real-time experiment data and waveform, students can understand the difficult theorem easily. This project also shrinks the equipment size to 1/2 of the original size to save more space for the laboratory, raise the measurement accuracy, and make it become much easier to use.
Hardware :   NI cRIO, 1-axis motor, strain gauge, load cell, and fixture.
